El Ellis is leading the Cardinals | Duke vs Louisville | OSB
Louisville vs. Duke
The Louisville Cardinals will travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the Duke Blue Devils in an ACC matchup (7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Cardinals will look to gain momentum after snapping their four-game losing streak on Saturday. Louisville beat the Clemson Tigers 83-73 at home. Meanwhile, The Blue Devils are looking to add to their two-game winning streak. On Saturday Duke defeated the Syracuse Orange 77-55 on the road.
With an 4-23 record on the season and an 2-14 record in conference play, the Cardinals are in last place in the ACC standings. Louisville has struggled on the road this year as they are 0-8 as the away team.
Louisville has only really gotten production from one player this year. Senior guard El Ellis is leading the Cardinals this year as he leads the team in points and assists. Ellis is averaging 18.0 points and 4.6 assists a game this season. No one else on the team is averaging double digit points this season.
In their win against Clemson at home, it was all Ellis as he finished with 28 points. He shot 9-15 from the field and 3-6 from the three-point line. Junior forward JJ Traynor also helped scoring 16 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. In the win, Louisville shot 51.0% from the floor and 31.3% from the three-point line.
Offensively, the Cardinals are averaging 64.5 points a game on the season. Defensively, Louisville has struggled allowing teams to score an average of 75.4 points a game on the season. Look to see if they can fix their defensive struggles when they travel to Duke.
Duke has not been the same dominant team as they have been in years past. The Blue Devils are 19-8 on the season and 3 games back in the ACC with an 10-6 conference record. Duke has been perfect at home this year as they are 13-0 inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.
They have been led by Freshman center Kyle Filipowski, who leads the team in points and rebounds. Filipowski is averaging 15.1 points and 9.2 rebounds a game on the season. He has also gotten help from junior guard Jeremy Roach who is averaging 12.7 points a game this season. Look for him to have an impact against a smaller Louisville team.
In the win against Syracuse on the road, Filipowski had a monster game finishing with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Roach led the team in scoring finishing with 17 points. Off the bench, freshman forward Dariq Whitehead had a great game scoring 14 points as he shot 4-6 from the three-point line.
Offensively, the Blue Devils are averaging 71.6 points a game on the season. Defensively, Duke has been great allowing teams to score an average of 64.0 points a game on the season. Look to see if their defense can give the Cardinals problems in this game.

Prediction
I love Louisville here in this spot on the road. I think 19 points is way too much for the Blue Devils to cover. Yes, Duke has the size and the home court advantage over Louisville, but Duke is 4-12 in ACC conference play this year. Plus, I think Louisville is Eli Ellis has the guard play to keep it within 19 points. They will also have momentum on their back after beating Clemson.
Prediction: Louisville Cardinals cover the spread (+18.5).
