Cleveland State Vikings vs. Houston Cougars
Tommy D. back with online sports bet, America’s favorite sports information channel.
It’s Friday, March 19, the Cleveland State Vikings vs. Houston Cougars College basketball picks and prediction report. This game tips off at 7:15 PM EST tonight at Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana, where Cleveland State and Houston are set to collide in an NCAA Tournament First Round matchup.
The Houston Cougars, as the Midwest Region’s No. 2, reeled off seven consecutive victories to close out their season. They have 24-3 SU and 19-8 ATS records and are heavy favorites against the Vikings. No. 15 seed Cleveland State puts together their best season in 10 years, reaching the Horizon League championship and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2009.

Let’s get back to the Cleveland State vs. Houston NCAA Men’s basketball spread and predictions courtesy of Betonline, where the Cougars are 20.5 hefty favorites with a total of 135.5.
Besides two close 67-64 and 76-74 wins against the Memphis Tigers, The Houston Cougars haven’t been truly tested down the stretch. During their season-ending run, they won the other five games by an average of 34 points. Houston also gets his first AAC title in school history with another dominant 91-54 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats in a conference championship game. Houston has held opposing teams to 57.9 points per game this year, the second-lowest figure among all Division I teams but besides their suffocating defense, this team can score as well. Their offense is led by standout guard Quentin Grimes (18.0 ppg). He is shooting just 41% from the floor but connected on 40.8% of his three-point attempts, the fourth-best rate in the conference. The Cleveland State Vikings could be in a tough spot against the Cougars’ steely defense. The task of putting points on the board will almost certainly fall on talented guard Torrey Patton, who leads the team in scoring (14.9) and rebounding (8.0), but shoots just 28.7 percent from deep. The Vikings are shooting 31.9% behind the arc that ranks them 259th in the country.
The Houston Cougars are known for squeezing the life out of opposing offenses, and with the Cleveland State Vikings incapable of relying on the three-point shot, I’ll take on total UNDER in this one.
