Clemson vs. Alabama Game Predictions

I’m expecting a hard fought, tightly contested Elite Eight matchup between these two rivals, as they each have certain strengths, which is why they’ve gotten this far in the tournament. Clemson is a lower seed but the Tigers aren’t playing like it. They’ve rallied around head coach Brad Brownell, who has infused Clemson with a tremendous amount of confidence. Alabama on the other hand is the highest scoring team in college basketball, averaging 90.7 points per game, and the Tide just rolled over No. 1 seed North Carolina. Bama and Clemson were clearly underrated heading into the tournament, which is what makes this matchup so tough to predict.

It truly could go either way, but I’m putting my money on Alabama to reach the schools first ever Final Four. Bama’s offense is unmatched, averaging 90 points per game during March Madness, led by the explosive Mark Sears. Sears is averaging 24.7 points in the tournament, but the Tide have a roster loaded with scorers. Clemson plays a more conservative game, averaging 75.3 points per game over the course of the tournament. The Tigers just held Arizona’s potent offense to 72 points in the Sweet 16, but Alabama’s ability to rack up points quickly will prove to be too much for Clemson to handle.

In summary, here are my picks for Clemson vs. Alabama Elite Eight matchup:

  • Moneyline Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide (-145)

If you take Alabama’s Moneyline (-145): You risk $145 to win $100, for a total payout of $245, if Alabama wins straight up.

  • ATS Pick: Clemson Tigers (+3.0)

If you take Clemson to Cover the +3.0 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if Clemson wins the game, or loses by less than 3 points.

  • O/U Pick: Over (164.5)

If you take the Over on 164.5 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if Clemson and Alabama combine for more than 164 points.
