It’s Saturday, April 3, the Houston Cougars vs. Baylor Bears College basketball picks and predictions report. This game tips off at 5:14 PM EST tonight at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana, where Houston and Baylor are set to clash in an all-Texas NCAA Final Four contest.
The No. 2 Houston (28-3 SU, 21-10 ATS) stretched its winning streak to 11 games beating Oregon State, 67-61 in the Midwest Regional final, while failing to cover the eight-point spread.
The No. 1 seed Baylor (26-2 SU, 18-10 ATS) is coming off an 81-72 victory over Arkansas as a 7-point favorite. The South Region champions Bears are playing their first Final Four since 1950.

Let’s get back to the 2021 NCAA Tournament: Houston vs. Baylor odds and prediction, courtesy of Betonline, where the Bears have the edge as 5-point favorites. The total line tip has been set at 134.5 points. The Cougars are here for the first time since 1984 when they eventually lost to the Georgetown Hoyas in the NCAA Championship game. Their defense has been fantastic, limiting each of their four NCAA tournament opponents to 61 points or fewer. Houston is an 11-2 ATS in its previous 13 matchups as an underdog and 14-6 ATS in its last 20 games overall. The total stayed Under in four of their previous five tilts in Big Dance. Houston is 11-0 SU in non-conference games. The Cougars are underdogs for just the second time this season, as they beat Texas Tech, who was a three-point favorite, 64-53 back on November 29.
The Bears have won their four NCAA tournament tilts by an average of 14.3 points. Their offense is scoring 74.5 points per game in Big Dance this year. They have won eight of their last nine games, and have covered the spread in three straight matchups. Baylor is 26-12 ATS in its previous 38 games against a team with a winning record and 10-3 ATS in the last 13 neutral site encounters. The total went Over in 13 of their last 16 outings. Baylor is 9-3 ATS and 12-0 SU in non-conference games.
This is the classic matchup between a really good offense and a sturdy defense. But it is important not to underestimate Baylor’s defense either, which has held opponents to an average of 60.3 points per game in the NCAA Tournament. So, I expect a low-scoring affair between the Bears and Cougars, who will not want to get into a shootout here. I’ll take the total Under in this one.
