The third week of the NFL season is upon us. Week 3 brings one of the most intriguing matchups of the season, with strong playoff implications. The two MVP front-runners, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, are set to square off in Arrowhead Stadium as the Baltimore Ravens will visit the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday.

We’ll help break down the matchup and determine the best bets.

Ravens at Chiefs Overview

Through the first two weeks, the Ravens have been the talk of the league. Lamar Jackson has come out guns blazing with the new-look Ravens offense. Myles Boykin and Hollywood Brown have both looked incredible in their transition to the NFL. Jackson has formed connections with both rookie receivers, and they have been able to create a one-two punch in the passing game.

Mark Ingram has also been solid after coming over from the Saints in the offseason. While the Ravens have other players in the backfield, including rookie Justice Hill, Ingram has taken the backfield to another level.

Jackson has already accounted for seven touchdowns in the Ravens’ offense. He has taken a leap in the biggest way possible.

Speaking of leaps, Patrick Mahomes has been able to wow everyone yet again in his first two weeks of 2019.

Last week against the Raiders, he got behind early in the first quarter 10-0. Mahomes came out in the second quarter and put on a show. He threw four touchdowns, including a 44-yard strike to Demarcus Robinson. He finished the quarter with 278 yards passing, the most in a single quarter since 2008.

The Chiefs’ offense lost Tyreek Hill in Week 1, but it has not mattered. Mahomes has been able to utilize any receiver on the field. Sammy Watkins, Robinson and Mecole Hardman are just some of the names that have been able to look like All-Pro wideouts with Mahomes throwing to them.

Ravens at Chiefs Free Game Prediction

BetAnySports has the Kansas City Chiefs favored at home at -6.5, with an over/under set at 52.5.

The Chiefs pulling a full touchdown here is a little surprising with how good the Ravens have looked through two weeks. I think that is high with how poor the Chiefs passing defense has been so far this season.

Brown and Boykin should be poised to have monster games, and Jackson should be able to continue his MVP run. I’m taking the Ravens on the road this week, and take the over on the point total.
