Week 3 of the NFL preseason schedule gets underway on Thursday night with an inter-conference matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles. Game time from Lincoln Financial Field is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Ravens at Eagles Game Overview

The Ravens won the AFC North last season with a SU record of 10-6. They are listed at +350 betting odds to repeat behind both Cleveland (+148) and Pittsburgh (+168). With last Thursday’s 26-13 victory against Green Bay, they are 2-0 both straight-up and against the spread in the preseason with the total split 1-1. It went OVER BetAnySports’ 37-point line against the Packers after staying UNDER 31 points in a 29-0 shutout against Jacksonville in Week 1.

Baltimore is relying heavily on Lamar Jackson as the team’s best player on offense. Since taking over the starting role from Joe Flacco last season, he has averaged 17 rushing attempts a game. The run is a huge part of the Ravens’ offense with the quarterback leading the way. They ran the ball 37 times against Green Bay for 171 yards and one score.

The Eagles are off to a 1-1 start both SU and ATS through two preseason games. They lost to Tennessee 27-10 in Week 1 as 1.5-point home favorites ahead of Thursday’s 24-10 victory over Jacksonville as 2.5-point road underdogs on BetAnySports’ closing line. The total ended as a PUSH in Week 1 before staying UNDER 34.5 points against the Jaguars. Philadelphia went 1-3 both SU and ATS in the preseason last year before posting a 9-7 record SU in the regular season.

Everyone knows that Carson Wentz is the starting quarterback in Philly, but finding a backup that can stay off the injury report has been a challenge. Nate Sudfeld broke his left wrist in Week 1 and Cody Kessler got knocked out of last week’s game with a concussion. Wentz has yet to see any preseason action, but he should get a chance to run the offense for a few series on Thursday night. Clayton Thorson is the other healthy quarterback on the Eagles’ roster.

With the starters getting a bit more playing time in Week 3, each team should be able to put some points on the board. The lean is towards Philly at home, but I am going with the OVER on the total line as my best bet.
