Ok, let’s get to our Houston vs Texas prediction.
Rangers vs Astros
Today we have the good old fashion battle of Texas between Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers. But this season, it hasn’t been much of a battle, but more like a one sided thrashing. These two teams have met up 14 times to this point in this season, with the Astros winning a grand total of 10 of those matchups. The one thing the Rangers have going for them is that they were able to win the last game between these two squads back on the 11th of August. But aside from the Rangers winning the last game between these two organizations, there isn’t much going for them. The Houston Astros are currently the number one seed in the American League Wild Card spot, a spot they took from the New York Yankees after their horrible start to the month of August. Not many people currently have the Astros as their favorites to win it all, but pretty soon it’s going to be hard to deny whether or not this team should be the betting favorites. The Astros currently have a record of 82-47, and are currently on their fourth straight winning week of this month alone. They have won seven of their last ten games, including their last victory against the Baltimore Orioles in a must win game to prevent a series sweep by Baltimore.
The pitching matchup for tonight is a good one, as it will feature Framber Valdez of the Houston Astros up against Dane Dunning of the Rangers. Valdez is coming off four straight wins in his last four starts against the Guardians, Rangers, White socks, and Twins. These winds have helped bolster his season record to 13-4, along with his ERA of 2.65 and WHIP at 1.13. Donning hasn’t had such a great campaign as he sports a 4.19 ERA and a record of 3-6. He is coming off an outing in which he gave up four earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out four over 5 innings in a 7-6 loss to the Rockies on Tuesday.
For our expert Houston Astros versus Texas Rangers prediction, take the Astros run line, and the over of the run total.
