The Astros are now 36-21 on the season. They have won seven of their last 10 games but they are coming off of a loss to the Mariners. They lead the AL West by 9.5 games. That is the biggest lead in a division this season by 2.5 games.

The Marlins have won two in a row and three of their last four. They are now 24-30 on the season and 11.5 games back of the Mets. I think the Marlins have a legitimate chance at a Wild Card berth as they are one of four teams with a negative record to have a positive run differential.

This is looking like a really good pitching matchup. The Marlins will have Pablo Lopez on the mound who is 4-2 this season with a 2.18 era. Why the Astros will have Luis Garcia on the mound who is 3-4 but has a 3.07 era. Both of these teams rank in the top 12 of team ERA and in the bottom half of the league in runs scored.
