M’s look to continue Wild Card chase
The Mariners are 70-58 on the season. They currently own the second Wild Card spot and are a full 2.5 games up from the rest of the teams chasing the Wild Card. If they continue playing like they have since the middle of the season they will be a sneaky playoff team.
The Tigers are currently 50-78 on the season. They have the second worst record in the AL as they are two games ahead of the A’s. They are playing better as of late though as they have won two straight against the Rangers and six of their last ten.
Marco Gonzales will be facing Tyler Alexander here. Gonzales is pitching very well right now as over his last two starts he is 2-0 and he has only given up two runs in 11.1 innings. Alexander is coming off of his worst start of the season as he only went three innings and gave up seven earned runs. He has given up 3+ runs in his last three starts. Take the hotter pitcher and the better team here.
