We have had a very good handle on both of these teams all season long and I have strong opinions on both the side and total of this game.

Ok, let’s get to the Patriots v Falcons Thursday Night Football game.

These two teams could not be entering tonight’s game with more different recent results. New England has won four in a row and is coming off its best game of the season, destroying the Browns at home, 45-7, as a 2.5 point favorite.

Conversely, we have the Falcons limping in off a disastrous performance on Sunday that saw them get romped on by the Cowboys, 43-3, as 8-point dogs. As a result, this line has gotten out of control and, believe it or not, we see some value here with the home dog. Last week at this time, the Falcons opened as a 4-point underdog in this game, but after last week’s results, the betting markets have overreacted and bet the Pats up to a 7.5 point favorite and this is too steep for us not to grab the underdog.

Let’s not forget that before laying an egg in Dallas, Atlanta was playing its best football of the season, winning three out of four games, including a road upset over New Orleans. Atlanta is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games the week after a loss and since Tom Brady left town, New England is just 2-5 against the spread as a road favorite. And, don’t forget, the Pats have a huge game on deck next week when Tennessee comes to town so it’s possible they could be looking ahead.

We are always talking about value on these videos and this is a classic case where the Falcons plus over a touchdown is too juicy to pass up, as bad as the team looked last week in Dallas.

So, for our Patriots vs Falcons Thursday night pick, let’s take Atlanta, plus 7.5 points.
