OK, let’s get to our Patriots vs Bills prediction.

This will be the third time these two AFC East rivals have met in the last seven weeks so there really won’t be any big surprises for either team as they take the field tonight at Orchard Park where the temperatures are going to be in the single digits.

We all remember what happened in the first meeting between these two teams back on December 6th on this same field in a game played with wind gusts of over 50 miles per hour. The Pats threw the ball just three times and ran the ball down the Bills’ throat and escaped with a 14-10 win as a 3-point underdog. Three weeks later in Foxboro, the Bills got their revenge as QB Josh Allen played maybe his best game of the season, throwing for 314 yards and three TDs as Buffalo took back control of the division with a convincing 33-21 victory.

The over/under in the second game that was played in more benign conditions was 43.5 and it easily went over the total with 54 points scored and that’s the kind of game we expect to see tonight.

What most of the bettors in this game are not taking into consideration is that while it will be freezing cold at kickoff tonight, the winds will be below 10 miles per hour for most of the night, so the offenses are not going to be affected. Both of these teams put up impressive defensive numbers all season, but neither team really played a tough schedule of opposing offenses and when they did, they gave up a lot of yards and a lot of points.

Buffalo went up and down the field in the second game and the New England defense could not force a punt in the entire game. Josh Allen will have similar success tonight, especially if the Pats are without some key defensive players who have been on the injury report all week.

As for the Pats offense, this is a great matchup for them because New England loves to run the football with heavy sets and the Buffalo Bills have shown all season that they struggle against physical offenses that like to pound the ball on the ground.

New England has gone over the total in 11 of its last 15 playoff games and if you take away the game played in Buffalo this year under nasty conditions, the team has gone over the total in 9 of its last 12 games overall.

Don’t be scared off by the weather forecast tonight. Go over the total of 44 points.
