NFL Betting Preview 11/7/16 Buffalo Bills at Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks generally know what it takes to get to the playoffs, no matter what kind of obstacles they have to overcome. Now they are coming off a rather non-productive two-game stretch as they come back home on Monday night and play host to the Buffalo Bills in a game that is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 PM ET at CenturyLink Field.

This game is televised live by ESPN, and BetAnySports patrons have a chance to watch it and place wagers on it in real time as they take advantage of what is available through Live Betting Ultra.

The Seahawks played a rather drab game two weeks ago when they battled to a 6-6 tie with Arizona. It was clear in that game that Russell Wilson was hurting, as he was (and still is) dealing with knee and ankle injuries. He also has a torn pectoral muscle, but coach Pete Carroll nonetheless says that he is feeling better. But the decision as to whether left tackle Bradley Sowell can play or not has not been made, although it is certain that he would not be near 100% if he did. The team has not made any emergency moves to deal with what is a rather large hole at the spot where they have to protect Wilson’s blind side.

In the Monday night football odds that have been posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, the Seahawks are solid favorites at home:

Seattle Seahawks -7 (+100)
Buffalo Bills  +7 (-120)

Over 44 points  -110
Under 44 points  -110

The general consensus is that whatever the Bills are going to be able to do on offense is going to be tied into whether LeSean McCoy can play. Our feeling is that Rex Ryan is going to do whatever he can to make that happen. McCoy left the game with the Dolphins with an aggravation to his hamstring, after trying to play and gaining only eleven yards. But take note of the fact that the Bills are #1 in the league in rushing, so they can conceivably put other backs into the game. The first one who comes to mind is Mike Gillislee, who had 85 yards on the ground against New England.

Certainly the BetAnySports audience saw what happened with Buffalo after their loss to the New York Jets, where the defense actually failed them. Ryan fired his offensive coordinator, Greg Roman, elevating Anthony Lynn, who implemented a simpler approach that was based on being more forceful with the run. The Seahawks have been difficult in that regard, yielding only 3.4 yards per carry. In last week’s loss at New Orleans, the Seahawks allowed the Saints, not normally known as a running team, to gain 123 yards on the ground. But if the Bills may be able to extract a real edge, it is with their passing game. Seattle will be missing defensive end Michael Bennett and strong safety Kam Chancellor, who will be missing his fourth straight contest.
