Indiana at Minnesota- NBA Thursday Preview and Pick
BetAnySports Game Line: Minnesota -5
BetAnySportsTotal Line: 215.5
The Indiana Pacers will try and snap a three-game skid this Thursday night when they go on the road to face the surging Minnesota Timberwolves in an 8 p.m. (ET) tip at the Target Center.
Indiana at Minnesota Game Preview
The Pacers’ current losing streak reached three games both straight-up and against the spread with Monday’s stunning 109-103 loss to New York as five-point home favorites on BetAnySports’ closing line. They are now an even 22-22 SU (18-26 ATS) on the year and clinging to the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Indiana has failed to cover in five of its last six games.
Paul George put up 31 points in the loss to the Knicks while Myles Turner added 22 points and 10 rebounds, but an overall 7-for-26 performance from three-point range did not help the cause. Indiana is ranked 15th in the NBA in scoring with an average of 105.4 points per game and it is 10th in shooting with a 46.2 field goal percentage. The Pacers are actually tied for eighth in the league from beyond the arc.
Behind the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, the 17-28 Timberwolves are making a move up the Western Conference standings with six SU wins in their last eight games. Minnesota failed to cover as a 1.5-point road favorite in Tuesday’s 112-111 squeaker over Phoenix, but it is still 6-3 ATS in its last nine games. The Timberwolves are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Towns leads Minnesota in both points (22.4) and rebounds (11.9) and he has topped that scoring average in three of his last four games while pulling down an average of 12.5 rebounds during this same span. Wiggins hit the game winner against the Suns on Tuesday night and he led all scorers with 31 points. He is a close second in the scoring department with 22 PPG. The Timberwolves are 19th in the NBA in scoring with 103.5 PPG and they are shooting 46.1 percent from the field.

Minnesota has been on a steady roll since early January behind its young stars and I like its chances to keep things going on Thursday night with a fourth SU win in a row while covering BetAnySports’ current five-point spread.
